22 July 2007 | Norfolk - Supporting Madness @ Blickling HallRead the full story at our myspace blog. Suffice to say, the Madness crowd were top, we've made a lot of friends - apart from some local reviewer up there for Beeb Norfolk who hated us, but seeing as he apparently is often to be found frequenting the Motorhead forums, it is not surprising he doesn't dance to the tactical tune. Looking forward to supporting Madness again at Ascot.

11 July 2007 | London - Metro with The Alps, Absent Elk, The Anomalies. So we've completed our first gig in the brave new world of no public smoking Britain. A good night it was too. Opened up by the Anomalies with their Herefordshire hip hop a band with great energy. Spotted a few of the usual London a&r suspects down for them so let's wish 'em luck with finding their deal. The Alps played great as usual although they were by their own admission a little knackered. The Alps always have a lot of pretty girls in their following, not that's why we like sharing gigs with them, honest. We couldn't see much of Absent Elk's set as had to step out to speak to some press people who'd come down - next time lads. Cheers to all who came for us, with each gig there is more singing and dancing from the crowd, which makes us happy!

13 Jan 2007 | London - I want in @ The Old Blue Last One of London's busiest club nights played host to ourselves and Jay and Jay and the Pistolets. We found ourselves on the Pete Doherty press o go round as Babyshambles were set to do a secret set and the news had got out to the PD faithful. Sadly for the faithful, the man didn't show, something about a stolen car incident - would we be lynched by the dissapointed we worried, far from it, happily everyone got into our set and much singing and dancing was done by all. A couple of people even mistook us for Babyshambles, hmmmm...
9 Dec 2006 | London - The Luminaire SANTA DOG AND FIRST OF THE GIANTS came to play London and asked us to be their local guests along with DJs from SoundsXP and LostMusic. The Luminaire was packed out and it's easy to tell why it's won prizes as a venue. Watch out for more of Santa Dog in 2007

8th November 2006 | London - Record release party @ The Fly Brilliant night! Filling a venue to capacity midweek in London is not easy so to have so many through the door and all happy, smiling and dancing and singing along was a treat for us and we hope for those who came too! Promoting the night ourselves meant that we got to play an hour set instead of your usual nights in London where they insist on piling in 4 or 5 bands to make money and leave you lucky if you've got 25 mins. Thanks to our DJs for the night, Lucy and SoundsXP Neil. Thanks too are in order for Jeff from Barfly who managed the door and all the various guest and industry lists superbly. Unfortunately we can't say thank you to the Fly overall though as, having seriously messed us about with our booking, they considered us unimportant enough to leave us with a sound engineer who had never worked the venue before and didn't even know where things were. Have to say though that he did a superb job under these difficult circumstances so we hope they employ him again. See you at the next one!
28 Oct 2006 | Manchester - Break in the City @ Satan's Hollow This one wasn't easy for lots of reasons but we had a great time in Manchester and look forward to getting back there again - hopefully next time to play a venue without skulls on the wall :-)
21 Oct 2006 | Coventry - F*ck art let's dance @ Taylor John'sOur second gig in Coventry and we love it more each time. Nice people and great to travel all that way and find people singing along as they know the songs. Good curry too at Bengali Spice on the way home..
10 Oct 2006 | Watford-Oxjam @ The HornsOllie and Joe got their acoustic duo show out of mothballs and back on track. All good fun. Ollie was also on DJ duty all night to keep him out of trouble. Best audience comment of the night "I enjoyed that because you're a bit of a nutter". Funny how the duo sets seem to raise far more havoc than full band line-up. Thanks to Natalie of Dream Out Loud for organising the night which raised 500 quid for Oxfam.
22 Aug 2006 | London-Kiss the Dirt @ The Spread EaglePlayed alongside some great new talent - talent evident in the set by The Alps from South London. Mr Brick of myspace came and posed for photos...Lots of girls dancing down the front, not sure if they came for us or the prettier faces of Videosprint but hey, they danced and that's the main thing
19 Aug 2006 | London-100 ClubSpecial set at the screening party for 555 Pop Promos competition. The video of "London's alright" made by Matt and Rob Productions took the people's choice vote on the night!
27th May 2006 | Acoustic sets at The International Pop Overthrow Festival, Cavern Club, LiverpoolWe nearly had to cancel this one at the last minute due to all sorts of pain in the arse problems but we got there thanks to National Express and were very glad that we did. The crowds were great, really up for the gigs, a mish mash of music lovers, other bands and random people in on hen and stag nights. There were bands from all over the world, a rare thing for a British Festival and it was all for free! If you don't know the IPO circuit, get aquainted at www.myspace.com/internationalpopoverthrow

27th April 2006 | Urban 75 offline @ Jamm Brixton

03 Mar 2006 | London - O'Reilly's, Kentish TownA big thank you goes out to The Standards for creating and promoting this "business and Pleasure" semi-acoustic night. It really was business and pleasure too. Business for Findlay Brown, over from Copenhagen to showcase to industry types who were obviously not there for the party, promptly leaving at the end of his set. Those left were up for having that party. The Standards raised the tempo with their great, well crafted, 60's oriented songs - how these songs go unnoticed by the fabled industry is a mystery to us. The intimate acoustic venue allowed host Neil's wonderful voice to be heard at its best. Next on, The Tacticians were determined to raise that tempo one further. Ollie got very excited, jumping on and off chairs until one cracked under the strain, bringing him crashing to the floor - he came up playing like a pro, having stunned Joe and Al into silence (perhaps we'll post pictures of the bruises later!). Dan Cutts had to follow the chaos and played a winner, reeling the audience back in to the dreamy world of Neil Young reminiscent ballads. It was another evening for typos too - once again we became Tactitians, instead of Tacticians. Should we be getting worried about this regular association with tits? All in all, one of the good ones. Thanks Neil!

23 Feb 2006 | Coventry - The Tin Angel (for Tough Love records)A rare out of towner for us. Surprise surprise, it's snowing as we hit the road. One and half hours into the journey we've got as far as Alperton and wondering if we'll even make it as far as the M25. Sigh of relief, managed to get to the venue for our stagetime, who needs soundchecks? Wolftracks never showed, maybe they're still in a snowdrift? Locals - Buzzin Flies - got the night off to the right start. Three West Coast harmony influenced boys with lovely songs and voices and VERY romantic lyrics! The tight packed crowd at The Angel gave us a rousing reception. Good to meet Stephan of Tough Love, Malc of Beneva and others, including Brendan, drummer of the Sequins who sat intently studying Joe's upside down, left-handed guitar technique. We even got to play a few songs to a group of blokes who must surely have been in town for a conference and had stumbled in while in search of the nearest lapdancing joint. Home at 3am, up for work at 8am. Nice.

24 Jun 2005 | London-Spice of LifeWe love this venue. It has a great atmosphere. There weren't as many people as last time (thank god) due to the start of Glastonbury. We enjoyed it immensly. It was our first gig with our new drummerboy Johnny. One rehearsal only then he went on holiday comes back on the day of the gig and plays without any mistake. What a tight motherfucker!!!! Welcome John.
18 Jun 2005 | London-The GarageThe Garage again. The hottest day of the year. Ollie sweats a lot under these circumstances. Did the bands really go together on one bill? No disrespect but we don't think so!!! Lager lads shouting , thinking Hardcore Porn is an ace song because it has the word porn in it. If this gig was a football match it would have been a lucky draw. Last gig for Mark on drums. Good luck in Peterborough.
13 May 2005 | London-Spice of LifeFriday the 13th. Scary shit. But the venue is sold out. People queing outside and can't get in. Not bad. We are scared because we're a bit under rehearsed as Mark has moved to Peterborough. We play quite shabby but the club is steaming. People singing along and ladies give you their phone numbers afterwards. Friday the 13th? We're not superstitious!!!
15 April 2005 | London-The GarageWe played The Garage. Sweet and Dandy. We had a great time and people shouted out for more. It was pretty crowded. Thanks to everyone for coming down. The other bands were OK and the Daddies rocked. The sound lady left everyone slightly annoyed due to her odd attitude about sending the bands off stage even though there was time left to play. You've got to wonder sometimes. Anyway all in all: good night good people good music. xxx!
