Aug 2006 | "London's alright" appears on Tough Love Records 1st Birthday album "What will survive of us?"Thank you to Tough Love for inviting us to appear on their compilation album. "London's alright" appears as track 13 - a fitting number for us as we've had possibly more than our fairshare of bad luck. Happily, this time it's lucky 13 as we're pleased to say that it has led to our track being recommended by forum dwellers and reviewers alike. This week the Music Week recommended websize www.new-noise.net made us one of their tracks of the week having heard us via the compilation. So come on all you supporters of great new music and indie labels, you may already own "London's alright" but this 19 track album is worth having. Get it via Tough Love Records website

July 29th 2006 | The Tacticians win Spare Room track of the month on BBC 6Music! Thanks to all who voted Early on it wasn't looking good, we were languishing in 4th place out of 4 after some of the other bands put on hundreds of votes overnight and then we got to feeling mighty annoyed when one of them stole our web entry and code for their myspace blog (the literary version of sampling?). The good news is that, after trials and tribulations and 2000 "ghost votes" cleared off the system, we won, taking nearly 50% of the vote. Ollie gave his first live radio interview to DJ Vic McGlynn, "London's alright" was playlisted for a week and it felt good to see The Tacticians on the shows' tracklist next to some great bands. Thanks to Vic and BBC 6 for supporting new music! Now, can we persuade them to playlist our next single when we finally release it....?

July 2006 | We are Spare Room track of the week on BBC 6 Music For the second time this year DJ Vic McGlynn chose us as her spare room track of the week on her excellent lunchtime show; This is her spot for tracks recorded at home -at last an advantage to not being able to afford a recording studio - this time we had to prove it really was recorded at home as they thought it was too good for a home recording!! Please vote for us all month, CLICK HERE and scroll down and vote for The Tacticians :-)

26th October 2005 | Life has been busy for The Tacticians recently. We've written several new songs, started pre production for new recordings (that means a lot of cables in the lounge and bedroom!), picked up lots more net radio play and have been fielding emails from all corners of the globe. Meanwhile we've joined MySpace. We weren't too sure about it at first but it's proved worth the effort. New people really do find us on there. Downside is we've been spending far too many hours on there ourselves, discovering new and old favourites. If you're on Myspace come and be our friend!!
